ScavHunt decisions
Okay. So you all know, presumably, that I live and breathe ScavHunt. If you don't, you don't know me.

Now, I have a bit of a tricksy decision: historically, I've scavved ad majorem snitchcocki gloria - for the greater glory of Snitchcock - but some people are putting together a Grad/Alumni team. There are some arguments to be made in favor of both, obviously, but I won't go into my current mode of thinking. The question is - what do *you* think? Any alumni thinking of doing the Grad/Alumni team who might be swayed with a few more compatriots?

I am a grad/alumna who might be swayed. I never did Scav when I was at school, which made me sad, so I would be interested in chipping in this time around, assuming cool dudes were doing it and I had time and stuff.

ScavHunt is not merely for the hardcore scavvies who enjoy putting their entire life on hold for four days for an intense course of sleep deprivation and humiliation - it is also for people who just want to do one or two items, and do them well, in their free time. Whichever way you decide, you should join the grad/alum team facebook group and see what's up :-)

I didn't scav last year mostly because I no longer felt like a part of Hitchcock. But if a lot of my friends (or even people I know) scavved for this Grad/Alumni team, I'll probably join.

I am in the same quandary as you; I want to scav with my friends, but I'm not angsty enough for FIST and only a scant few of my friends did Max P. I'm planning on doing the Grad/Alum team as long as some solid leadership comes though, as well as some off days from whatever I'm doing then :-)

I'm very interested in the grad/alum team, and of course will be influenced by who is on it (and you being on it would definitely be a plus!). If too few awesome people go for grad/alum, I might go for FIST, but I'd much prefer grad/alum- I've always had a grudge against FIST for pulling too many good people away from small dorm-teams that need them. And it would just be terrific to be together again for four days with our old crowd from undergrad...

hmm, you might not know who I am b/c I don't post my name on this journal. Ok, this should clear things up:

Ya byla v RnJ c toboy, i ya dumayu chto nikto drugovo v grupe govoril po rucckii.

sorry for probably mangling the grammar in that...

I may or may not have time/money to go this year; if I do, I'll pick either FIST or Grad/Alum based on a complicated algorithm whose inputs are which of my friends are where.

This sounds like it could lead to some difficult game-theoretic problems.

so basically, it's a special case of vowel spreading.

I understand your reasoning, but

I'd seriously contemplate going back for a grad/alumni team. I've been thinking of starting one for Shoreland alums, but running a team is a whole lot of work. Meh, depends on grad school stuff, though.
